Turns out, Piggy really was “rescued” by the Chinese government’s secret Commienaut space program. When the Yellow-Menace-One space capsule got back to earth, Piggy was quarantined along with the two Chinese astronauts. Of course, Piggy was so annoying, obnoxious and demanding that instead of putting him on the menu as originally planned, they sent him home with a letter saying something about “live in interesting times.”

I guess they appreciated him about as much as we do. But, with all his faults (and there is no lack of those), he’s ours. C’est la vie.
